22 Jun Scotland success driving huge interest in autumn tests
Scotland’s recent summer tour victories over Italy and Australia have generated huge interest among Scotland supporters as they look forward to welcoming the squad home to BT Murrayfield this autumn.
Scotland will face the world’s top-ranked side, New Zealand, Australia and Samoa this November and and supporters have already signed up for the series in record numbers.
Scottish Rugby’s social media channels such as Facebook and Twitter have never had a busier June, and the number of autumn test packages bought since going on sale on Monday – two days after the famous win against the Wallabies – have eclipsed the previous record from five years ago.
Scotland Head Coach Gregor Townsend said: “We’re delighted to hear about the huge number of supporters who have already committed to coming to watch the Scotland team in the autumn tests.
“We already know the team has great support but to hear of so many tickets being snapped up so early for games in November is really heartening.
“Playing in front of your home crowd is a special experience and I know the team – while focussed on this Saturday’s match against Fiji – are looking forward to running out at BT Murrayfield against world-class opposition.”
